The Pet Nanny provides pet sitting services in your home for dogs, cats, birds, horses, chickens, exotic animals—including reptiles, rats, gerbils, guinea pigs, pigeons, and more. We’ve been in business since 2003 and we’re still going strong! We love animals and love what we do. Let our family take care of your “furry” family.
Why should I hire a professional pet sitter?
It’s safer to care for your pets in their own homes. Animals are often territorial and are happier in their own home environments surrounded by familiar sights and smells.
When animals are boarded, they run the risk of exposure to other animal’s illnesses and parasites.
A professional pet sitter will offer playtime and personal attention, whereas a friend or neighbor may not have time to do more than feed your pet.
Professionals are capable of handling emergency situations, should one arise while you’re away.

Can my pets meet you before I go away?

What if my pet has special needs such as daily medicine?
We will gladly administer daily medications for your pet, including subcutaneous fluids and injections.
What if my pet needs a veterinarian while I’m away?
If you leave us the name and number of your vet, we'll be happy to use your pet's veterinarian, should the need arise during business hours. In an emergency, we’ll ask your permission to use the closest emergency veterinary clinic. The Pet Nanny of Colorado will not sit for acutely ill animals or those with uncontrolled medical conditions. In these cases, we recommend the pet be boarded with a veterinarian.
Will you also bring in the mail, water plants, and scoop litter boxes?
Yes. Our services include bringing in the mail, turning lights on and off, closing and opening curtains, scooping litter boxes, and watering plants at no extra charge.
Services & Rates
We charge by the number of visits, not the number of pets. We accept personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Venmo, Zelle, and cash.

Service Area
Our general service area includes the towns of Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster, Broomfield, Henderson, Brighton, and the Erie area. Our boundaries are roughly 104th St. and Sheridan (SW), Hwy. 7 and Sheridan (NW), Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 85 (NE), and 104th St. and Chambers (SE). We occasionally travel further than our general service area. Please call if you live outside this area.

We highly recommend Peni and Lori of Pet Nanny of Colorado for pet services. My husband and I are extremely impressed by the love and attention that Peni and Lori provide our two Shih-Tzu, Maltese mix rescues; Sassy and Chloe. Because our pups are rescues, they both have abandonment issues. Chloe in particular is very nervous around new people and typically wants to “attack” a human’s big toe (she’s 8 lbs.)! Peni and Lori’s patient and loving manner towards our pups has provided Chloe a sense of calm and now she is unafraid of her nannies. When either Peni or Lori arrive for the pups daily walk, Chloe jumps up and down, spins in circles and is the first one to the door ready to go! Peni and Lori are also very flexible when we’ve had extra requests; an additional dog or two that we’re sitting for, walking the girls earlier or later than their usual schedule, etc. Please consider Pet Nanny of Colorado when interviewing puppy nannies.

Peni and Lori take care of our girls, Maggie and Lexie, when we travel. We never worry about them because we know they are in good hands. Maggie and Lexie are older shih-tzus so they have some health issues. They are always taken well care of and given lots of love and kisses. What can I say about the Pet Nanny of Colorado....they are amazing. They are also a part of our family! They not only walked Bear five days a week, they also took care of him, like their own, when we went on vacations. Bear was our everything, our child, our love. I have worked with Peni and Lori, the Pet Nannies for over 3 years now. I work long days, and my dogs need attention during the day. The nannies are dog lovers, and care so much about what they do. They will let you know if there is any problem, and I would trust them with anything, and everything. I recently went on vacation for 8 days. We hit the jackpot when we found the Pet Nannies - Peni and Lori! We are so lucky to have them care for our two cats, Sophie and Vincent, when we are away. Vincent is a diabetic and requires insulin shots two times per day. Peni and Lori are extremely reliable and great at administering his insulin on schedule.
